What Does Yoda Fear?

 Somewhere in the Force, where all good Jedi go after death…

“No! No! No! Possible it is not!”

“But Master Yoda, it is the will of the Force.”

“Will of the Force it is not, Obi-Wan.”

“Search your feelings, Master. You know it to be true.” Sensing the disapproval of the older Jedi, Obi-Wan decided to let it drop.

“It matters not. A Force Ghost she will not become.”

“But Master…” this time it was the ghost of Anakin Skywalker. “You welcomed me.”

“I did. But no peace will I have if Mara Jade joins us. Question everything she will.”

 Part 2

Mara Jade regained consciousness slowly. She looked around but nothing seemed familiar. She remembered going after Jacen and then engaging him in a fight… a fight that had led to… her death.

“Where am I? What is this place?” she asked aloud.

“In the afterlife are you. A Force Ghost become have you.”

Mara glanced at the strange looking creature that had just appeared out of nowhere. She recognized him instantly, so much had Luke spoken of his former master.

“So you’re the great Master Yoda…” Her eyes sparkled for a moment and a mischievous grin tugged at her lips.

“This is ridiculous. I’m not doing that!” Mara’s distinctive voice could be heard by everyone in close vicinity.

“Do you must. If master this technique you do not, a Force Ghost become can you not.”, sighed Yoda, his legendary patience running thin.

He had been right about her. Mara was very strong-willed, a trait he found almost refreshing, but tiring.

“But chanting that stupid old mantra is too much.”

“Stupid it is not, young one. Do you must if Luke you want to see.”

“Luke… Alright! I’ll do it.”
